Full Text

The most recent accounts from Hispaniola, teem with disagreeable representations of the state of affairs in that island. Dissensions among the whites appear to be the cause of protracting the misery of the colony. One of the three commissioners lately arrived there from France, is returned, and the other two have conducted so as to create many enemies. The troops that have arrived, do not amount to more than making up the loss previously sustained by the insurrection—and the insurgents continue in force.
