Gen. Grant's Observations in the South.

Gen. Grant has returned from his recent trip through Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and part of Georgia, and has reported to the President the result of his observations. The summing up of General Grant's observations inclines him to the belief that the Southern people almost unanimously desire a speedy re-admission to their old position as States in the Union, and that their professions of future loyalty and good behavior are honest and sincere.
