Full Text

The paragraph in the papers asserting that a band of watermen attended his Majesty's coach to the House of Peers on Thursday last, who were hired for the express purpose of hallooing and applauding, appears to be without foundation. [London Packet.]

The above contradiction is an absolute falsehood, advanced by some despicable tool of administration. Several watermen were hired on Thursday last, and each paid 2s. 6d. for no other purpose than to halloo and applaud his Majesty to and from the House of Peers. The names of several of the watermen, who were paid for the above honourable purposes shall be given in a future paper, if the above despicable tool should again attempt to lend a lie to the confidence of truth.
