LOS ANGELES, Oct. 9. (UP) The Rev. John Goben may have been discharged as assistant pastor at Angelus Temple by Aimee Semple McPherson, but he intends to carry on his plans to take away her "one woman" control of the institution, he said today.
He said that the ten divisional managers he had summoned here for a meeting to consider revision of by-laws with a view to taking away Mrs. McPherson's sole appointive power were on their way to Los Angeles.
Mrs. McPherson may have tried to call off the meeting after discharging me, but she was too late, because they were on their way," he said. "If we can't meet in the church, we will meet outside, but the meeting shall be held. I shall do nothing about my discharge until then.
"I was ordered to destroy certain documents or prove them, and I will prove them and reveal their contents when the time comes," he declared in explaining his dismissal on grounds of disloyalty.
