The Times is in receipt of a letter from Austin stating the historical fact, that a former Texas University student Edwin Waller who was connected for sometime with the comptroller's office, has turned over to the state librarian at Austin the copy of an old bond for $100,000 that his grandfather executed in 1839 when he held the appointment under President Lamar as the financial agent to select a site for the location of the capital, of the then republic of Texas, to lay off the city and conduct the erection of all the public buildings at the new capital.
