Plant Vetch to Increase Soil Fertility
There will be a great deal said about sowing vetch this fall and every land owner should see to it that some vetch is sown on his land. Complete instructions on seeding vetch will be given in this paper at a later date, also suggestions about where to purchase the seed. Watch for the instructions and follow them and you will be benefited. It would be possible to cover every acre in Arkansas suitable to vetch production in the course of seven to ten years and if this would be done Arkansas would take front rank in crop production. To turn under a crop of vetch means to enrich the land and thereby get a higher yield with but little added cost. This is the same thing as lowering the cost of production and could mean nothing else but increased profits.
