Bennett College Fund Reported Short Of Goal

GREENSBORO, N. C.-(ANP)- Although contributions to the Bennett College Quarter Century Fund Drive have been coming in in larger numbers, the drive is still $23,000 short of its goal, according to N. S. Calhoun, chairman of the drive.

Unless the amount is raised by the end of the month, the college will lose a provisional gift of $75,000 from the Kresge Foundation of New York, he added.

The grant was offered to Bennett provided that the college could raise the balance required to pay for the new student Union building which was dedicated a year ago.

Dr. David Jones, president of the college, said that an anonymous donor has promised to give the last $5,000 of the $23,000.
