Dublin, Nov. 15. The prodigious foreign demand for Irish butter, has increased to such an extent, as to enhance the price twenty or thirty per cent. above the usual value, even at the dearest season of the year.—Common tub butter, sold last Saturday, in Carlow-market, at £3. 10s. 8d. per hundred. and bowl ditto, in large and small parcels, at nine pence per pound. Some persons esteem this great export as an advantage to the nation, whilst others, with more justice, are of opinion, that when the returns of the necessaries of life are mere luxuries, the balance must ever be against the people, though the traffic be in favour of individuals; the diamond, though bright, was little regarded by the cock, in the fable, who wisely observed, that one single barley-corn, in point of real use, was worth forty such shining baubles.

If the export of our necessaries increase, it is in some measure counterbalanced by that of our most solid and valuable superfluities in many branches of manufacture. Thursday evening the Porcupine, Arundel, and Thanet. brigs, sailed from the harbour of Dungarvan for St. Sebastian, with a choice assortment of piece and parcel goods, ironmongery ware, ready made articles of haberdashery, &c. for which last there is a particular great demand in that part of Spain. From hence it might be thought that the ladies of Biscay and Gallicia are getting into our fashions, as cloaks, hats, bonnets, ruffles, handkerchiefs. and head dresses, make a considerable share of the above-mentioned cargoes.
