Full Text

Notwithstanding the assurance of the oldtimers that tomatoes will grow vines but bear no fruit here in the summer season the Keystone hotel has given us another experiment. When gathering crop during March the man in charge, who had raised tomatoes in California, took cuttings from the bearing vines, some of the cuttings were in bloom, and planted about 15,000 tomatoes. On July 1 he offered to the market over a hundred crates of as fine tomatoes as the season has brought forth.
