Full Text
A party writes to us that a certain person owes him one dollar, and has lied about the payment of so small an amount. He desires us to publish his communication, to which he signs the nom de plume of "Pro Bono Publico." We do not think such articles are "for the public good," and therefore decline to publish it or to give the names of the parties interested. The writer evidently cares more to gratify a personal spite than to benefit the public by exposing a fraudulent character. We never publish such letters except as advertisements, and then charge double price for the space they occupy.
