Sad Accident.—From a reliable source

we have received the particulars of a sad

accident which occurred near Spring Green

on the 7th. While Daniel, youngest son

John J. Jones, in company with several

other boys, were going to school along the

rail road track, the cars came along, and

as they were going rather slow, Daniel and

one of his companions attempted to jump

on. The other boy succeeded, but Daniel

fell and the cars passed over his right leg

and left foot, breaking the leg and cutting

off two toes on his left foot. The services

of a physician were immediately procured,

and his leg was amputated above the knee,

and the foot properly dressed. At last

accounts the boy was doing as well as

could be expected.

The above sad termination of a reckless

undertaking, should be a warning to boys

not to unnecessarily expose themselves to

danger.
