On Sunday last a detachment of Virginia troops, who were on their way to join general Washington's army in Jersey, and part of the militia of this town, embarked and sailed from Fell's point for the Eastern Shore of this state, in order to assist in quelling the insurgents of the counties of Worcester, Somerset, and Dorchester. Another body, with a train of artillery, are to join them from Annapolis. Brigadier general Smallwood is to command on this expedition. Col. Mordecai Gist, of this town, who set out yesterday, we hear, is second in command.
