Full Text

Hamburg, Nov. 17. The Forces under the Command of Field Marshal Butterlin, and that Division of the Army commanded by General Fermor, have both begun their Retreat, after strengthening the Corps under General Romanzow, who has Orders to reduce Colberg, and to bury the Prince of Wurtemburg and his Troops in its Ruins.

At the Close of the Month of October this was very near being the Case, the Garrison of that Place being absolutely without Provision; but the Governour observing a Vessel at the Mouth of the Harbour, manned two little Sloops, with which they became Masters of it and a Lading of Rye, which furnished them with Subsistence.

General Schenckendorff, with the Detachment under his Command, has joined General Platen very opportunely: for the Russian General Berg soon after attacked General Platen, by whom he was vigorously repulsed, with the Loss of 200 Men. The two Generals, with their combined Corps, are in full March for Colberg.
