General Montgomery (commanding Officer of the provincial Forces then there) on Condition of having the full Enjoyment of the English Constitution, their Religion as usual, and their Property secured from Plunder.
We also learn that Governor Carleton was gone off for Quebec; with several Vessels and a large Quantity of Gun-Powder, &c. but that it was expected the whole would fall into the Hands of Col. Arnold, who, we hear, was arrived before Quebec, and no doubt would very soon reduce that Place.
Every necessary Requisite for supplying the Army under General Montgomery, was found in Montreal, and on the most moderate Terms, and where they will find very comfortable Winter Quarters, after an amazing fatiguing Campaign.
On Sunday last came to Town, Captain Henry Livingston, from Montreal, and soon after, we hear, set out for the Continental Congress at Philadelphia. He brought Advice, that on Monday the
