STAGE NEGLIGENCE.-We yesterday saw a letter from an Indiana soldier, a member of the 12th Indiana Battery, stationed at Fort Negley, Nashville, Tenn., which was filled with the most bitter complaints of shortness of rations. The writer, who has been nearly four years in the service, and in all the western campaigns, says that "in all my soldiering I have never seen such poor food." Again he says, "We do not draw one-half rations," and appeals to his relatives in this city, to whom the letter is written, to send him a box of plain wholesome food, "such as you think a soldier needs." It seems very strange that at a post so near civilization as is Nashville, our soldiers, in the fourth year of the war, should want for suitable rations. We trust the authorities at Indianapolis will make some inquiry into this neglect, and, if possible, have it remedied.
