Full Text
Tharp Bros. have purchased the machine shop department of Spencer, Luna & Lippold, and the most of it has been moved to the Dodd building, which is occupied by the firm. This machinery was once before owned by the Messrs Tharp and was sold by them before going to the Willamette valley some two years ago. The Tharps expect to complete arrangements in the near future whereby they will manufacture hack and wagon wheels on an extensive scale. It is said that wheels manufactured in a dry climate give much better service than those made in the valley and on the Sound, and find ready sale in preference to the latter. With the purchase of this machinery, also comes a change in the firm of Spencer, Luna & Lippold. Mr. Spencer has purchased the interest of both Luna and Lippold and will conduct the business.
