We have Advice from Switzerland, that the highest Mountain in the Canton of Fribourg near Glarus, split suddenly, with a terrible Noise, throwing out at the same Time combustible Matters, like those of Mount Vesuvius which issued out with such Violence that they seemed to reach the Clouds. All the Country adjacent to that Mountain, which was very fertile, is now quite ruined; the Inhabitants are in the utmost Consternation at this dreadful Accident, the like of which they never saw nor heard of in their Country before, and are still very apprehensive of the Consequence.
