Western Film Star Injured

By United Press Leased Wire

HOLLYWOOD, March 19. Art Acord, western film star, who was severely burned in a gas explosion at his home here, may be confined to Hollywood hospital for several weeks, attendants said today.

Acord was burned about the face, hands and limbs. He was still in a critical condition today, it was said.

Whether or not the burns would leave scars could not be determined.

The accident occurred late last night when Acord, alone in his home, entered the bath room and struck a match. A floor fuel-gas tap had been turned on accidentally and the explosion which followed blew out the side of the house and tossed Acord into the next room.

Firemen extinguished the blaze.
