IT is with pleasure, I understand that there is a Mechanic Association about forming here: indeed I may go farther and say, that there is no doubt of its utility; It is my sincere wish that this may not be like most all other societies that has heretofore been formed here-But that it may be as lasting as the Sun in the Firmament, and to effect this, there is nothing wanting, but the energy and stability of its Members. I presume there is no one, that knows the nature of this institution, but who will recommend it to the rising generation. Arouse then my younger brethren, and rally round the standard of each one's prosperity, and show yourselves like men, and more especially those that have their doubts, come forward and shake off those doubts, as you can not but acknowledge the benefits arising from this institution, in times of difficulty and distress, and let the world know that you do not value the sum fund. ed, and let it be no longer said that no societies of any magnitude, can ever prosper here-My brethren be up and doing, as we are but stewards of what we possess.

the mechanic association will be highly useful and lasting if members show energy and stability; young mechanics should join, overcome doubts, and embrace its benefits for prosperity and support in difficult times.
