The Next Legislature.

The next Legislature will assemble on the 1st of October, which day will witness the inauguration of the Governor-elect, Gen. John C. Brown. The Legislature will be composed of one hundred and nine members, eighty-four Representatives and twenty-five Senators, who are, for the most part, able men, good and true. Of the number there are nearly one hundred Democrats, which make the body one of singular unanimity, in so far as measures of State policy are concerned. The present executive officers, Ed. R. Pennebaker, Comptroller, Dr. William Morrow, Treasurer, and Thomas H. Butler, Secretary of State, continue in incumbents of the office of which they so worthily fill until the 15th of January, 1873. The Legislature, under the Constitutional provision, can remain in session but seventy-five days.
