Executive Session Yesterday,

In executive session of the Senate, yesterday, the following nominations were acted upon, as follows:

CONFIRMED.

J. Knowlton, to be Surveyor of the Port of Portland.
Geo. B. Pope, to be Consul at Para.
Gen. Wood, to be Postmaster at Brooklyn, N. Y.

REJECTED.

W. W. Lamper, for Postmaster of Salem, Mass.

NOT ACTED UPON.

Gen. Bartlett, to be Minister to Stockholm.
Gen. Sullivan, to be Minister to Bogota.

Quite a number of consuls and postmasters were confirmed, but about as many were rejected as were confirmed.
