COMMUNICATED.
ETHER.
It is but a few weeks since several extracts from the Philadelphia papers were given in the Virginian, showing the danger incurred by those who use the fumes of Ether. They stated that in the city of Philadelphia three persons had died, and that another had become a confirmed lunatic from the excessive use of this pernicious drug. I am informed that many persons in this section of country continue to take it—some in excessive quantities. It is presumed that some are ignorant of its effects, it is but an act of humanity to repeat the warning. Those who show such a gallant contempt for the advice of their parents and friends as to repeat the madness they so richly deserve the punishment which will most assuredly sooner or later be the consequence of their ordinary and self conceit. They are such as will not be convinced, "though one should rise from the dead."
