A Knight
of the Green Cloth, some days since,
sent out numerous and elegant invitations to
his "friends" to attend a sumptuous supper
at his Temple of Fortune, by good luck, our
friend John Moore, secured one of the dainty
billet doux, and John, ever prompt, was on
hand with the force, accompanied by Chief
Hammonds. Upon their announcement by
the sable fiend at the door, the immediate back
process commenced in hot haste, and guests
and host went pell mell into the streets, and
John Moore, Hammonds and their boys went
pell mell at the delicacies. Willy Jones says
he thought from the racket that there was
either an air U. mistake, or a negro insurrection
at least.

lished, for prudential reasons.
