Miguel Guiterrez, 24, "The Peeping Tom", whose capture took place several nights ago after he had been found loitering about a number of Nogales homes, was identified in a telegram received Friday by Chief of Police J. J. Lowe as an escaped convict from the Texas Penitentiary at San Antonio.
Chief Lowe finger-printed the stranger, who first gave his name as "Manuel Hernandez", and through this method established the man's true identity. When informed of the telegram from the Texas officials Guiterrez admitted his identity and said that if he could have paid his fine a few days ago he would have gained his freedom and would not be returning to the Texas prison from which place he escaped on July 16, 1928 and where he has three more years to serve.
Guiterrez' arrest here followed a visit to the home of Mrs. Carlton E. Towne on Elm street. He was seen looking in a window and when asked what he wanted replied he was trying to find a certain location on Beck street. He had told the same story when found loitering about the Joe Berk and other homes a few nights previous. When arrested following his visit to the Towne home he had in his possession a revolver and a pass key. After his arrest he was held in the city jail on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon.
