Sloop Mary, Harris, is one which was chased in there before sundown, and by express this moment arrived is now on fire, and 'tis supposed sundry others with the bridge also will share the same fate.
A detachment of fifty men from Fort Trumbull, with two pieces of artillery, and a number of volunteers, have gone forward, and may possibly be in season to save some of the vessels about the bridge.
P. S. the following are the names of some of the vessels burnt, viz. Sloop Mary, Harris; smack Traveller, Smith; smack Phoebus, Smith & schr. Favourite; all belonging to New London. The squadron had 17 sail of coasters in company, three of which they captured on Wednesday.
