THE ZUMBRO ON A TEAR.

Heavy Rain Causes It to Rise in Its Wrath at Rochester, Doing Much Damage.

[Special Telegram to the Globe,]

ROCHESTER, Minn., June 24.—At a little after midnight this morning one of the worst rains ever seen here struck this county. The gates and the east end of the dam of the Zumbro flouring mills have gone out. Seventy five to 100 sheep and hogs have gone down stream; also bridges, barns and fences. Fifteen houses are inundated and the occupants only escaped by a hasty exit. The water is falling, but there has been a great deal of damage done in the southwestern part of the county.
