Destructive Fire!—The City of Savannah, Geo. has suffered greatly by a fire which occurred on the 10th instant.— About one hundred houses were destroyed.

Measures have been taken in several cities and towns to afford relief to the sufferers by the late extensive fires in Augusta and Savannah. Could not the citizens of Wilmington afford to bestow at least a mite? Shall we behold, with indifference, the distresses of hundreds of suffering, houseless, families? We trust the subject will meet with attention and that a town meeting will be called to take it into consideration.
