Talbot Legislator Wants to Be Prosecutor in Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit
ATLANTA, Aug. 13--A. Jones Perryman, Talbot county representative in the Georgia house and a leading figure for the past several years in moves to reform the state's penal system, tonight announced he will be a candidate for solicitor general of the Chattahoochee judicial circuit. Walker Flournoy, appointed by Governor Hardwick to succeed Frank McLaughlin, resigned, is the present incumbent. The primary is to be held next year. Reports that Mr. Perryman would enter the race have been heard for several months, but it was not until tonight that he decided to inform a group of his supporters that he would run. The Chattahoochee circuit is composed of Muscogee, Chattahoochee, Harris, Marion, Taylor and Talbot counties, and is one of the largest in the state.
