ITALIANS SAID TO WOUND THEMSELVES

ATHENS, Greece, March - A Greek spokesman said that numbers of self-inflicted wounds had been noticed among Italian prisoners recently taken in Albania.

The wounds were said to have been inflicted by the Italians in hopes of being retired behind the lines and thus escape from the battle. Prisoners said that an order had been issued to all Fascist officers to shoot any Italian soldiers found guilty of this practice.

Italian prisoners also confirmed reports that the Italians are concentrating on the construction of defensive works, machine gun nests and barbed wire entanglements on the Albanian front.
