IN SENATE.
November 3.
Mr. Gregg and Mr. Taylor appeared and took their seats.
A quorum having appeared, the President pro-tem. took the chair.
Mess. Gaillard and Smith of Md. were appointed a committee to wait on the President, together with the committee appointed by the House; and having done so, reported that the President would make a communication to the two houses tomorrow.
November 4.
Several orders respecting the usual forms attending the organization and accommodation of the Senate, were adopted.
The Message of the President was received and read; and 1200 copies thereof ordered to be printed, on motion of Mr. Campbell of Ten.
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
Mr. Dawson, from the committee appointed to wait on the President of the United States reported that the President had informed them that he would make a communication to Congress tomorrow.
November 4.
The message from the President was received and read, together with the documents, of all which 300 copies were ordered to be printed.
