As part of its City-wide Vacation Bible School program for children, the Mississippi Baptist Seminary has had for the past two weeks a very successful school with Mrs. Leatha Walls as principal. Cooperating with Mrs. Walls as very capable, conscientious, and interested workers were: Mmes Irma Lee Chambers (Pianist and Primary teacher); Pauline Hayes (Intermediate Supt.); A. L. Hundley (Junior teacher); Minnie Michael (Beginners Supt.); Louise Mitchell (Junior Supt.); Emma Sweezer (Beginners teacher); Miss C. M. Ransom (Primary Supt.). These teachers guided the children into Bible study, songs, handicraft. The enrollment totaled 73.
On Friday night, August 8, the school closed with a very well planned and interesting program in which the children participated with Bible studies and songs they had been taught during the school. The devotional period of the program was very inspirationally and spiritually carried out under the direction of the Principal. Then each department rendered a very short program as planned. The children also had on display the many things they had made during the handicraft period. The Seminary chapel was filled to standing capacity. Ice cream was served at the close of the program.
Dr. Lang and his staff were very pleased at the results of the school and wish to take this method and opportunity to commend and extend sincere appreciation to Mrs. Walls and each teacher for such splendid efforts.
