GEN. SIGEL—NEW REGIMENTS AUTHORIZED—The General Government has given Major Gen. Sigel authority to raise a division of twelve regiments of infantry, and six batteries of artillery, and that gallant General has entered upon the work of raising them. He has written to Governor Salomon, asking for one regiment from this State. One of his aids will visit Wisconsin in a short time to make arrangements for it. There are hosts of men in Wisconsin who will delight to rally under the lead of this excellent officer, and there can be but little doubt but a regiment will be speedily filled with the patriotic citizens of this State.—Madison Journal.
