Rogers Snared In Clutches Of Law

PASADENA, Jan. 9. (U.P.)—Anyone who talks about statistics these days is a technocrat to Will Rogers.

The cowboy humorist scratched his head and ruefully eyed the traffic patrolman when Officer Roy Ewing pulled him to the curb.

"Let's have some statistics now fella," Ewing demanded. "What's your name."

"Well I swan, you don't happen to be Mr. Technocracy do you?" Rogers asked wryly. "I ain't. I'm just a plain old Democrat, and I got no idea what your figgers are all about, son."

"Never mind the wisecrack," snapped the officer. "What's your name?"

When he learned, he handed Rogers a ticket ordering the comedian to post bond within five days or go to court on a speeding charge.
