The Numbers of Wrecks & Bodies of Seamen which have been thrown ashore within these three Days past, afford us very deplorable Prospects. The Damage done to us on shore is also very considerable : our Port is almost ruined with the Inundation of the Tide, which laid the Houses on the North side of the Haven under Water, took away the Wall that keeps out the Sea, and washed our Oyster Works entirely away.
