Boards by which they are appointed and to which they are attached in what might be termed a reverse role.

When men and women are released from the armed forces, through medical discharges, mustered out, or other grounds entitling them to an honorable discharge, the reemployment committeeman is supposed to contact them, learn their business, domestic, and like circumstances, and offer counsel and practical help in every possible way. This includes not only reemployment in civilian life, finances, hospitalization, if needed, domestic problems, and the like. At the same time, the reemployment committeeman is available to be contacted by any from the armed forces needing counsel and emergency help.

As clerk Irving H. Miron of Selective Service Local Board No. 28, the board works somewhat in reverse for those leaving the services for reasons entitling an honorable discharge. While the board, more commonly referred to as the Draft Board may be responsible for induction of a person, its interest and influence does not cease there. When the person is returned to civilian life to pick up the threads of life anew, his Selective Service Board is there to extend a helping hand during the period of rehabilitation
