On Monday the 7th instant, the General Assembly of the State of Kentucky assembled at Frankfort. Both Houses were organized, and immediately proceeded to business. In the Senate, the Lieut. Governor took the Chair as Speaker; and Thomas Chilton was re-chosen Clerk by the casting vote of the Speaker, the votes of the Senate being equally divided between Mr. C. and Thomas W. Hawkins; Anthony Crocker was appointed Sgt. at Arms.
In the House of Representatives, Geo. Robertson, of Garrard, was elected Speaker, Robert S. Todd, Clerk, and Richard Taylor, Sergeant at Arms—all without opposition. The Governor the same day made a communication to both Houses, 1500 copies of which were ordered to be printed. In his Message the Governor [gives an ample view of the situation of the State.]
