Full Text

FRANK GIBLIN, of Lexington, found $2,660 worth of bonds in an old trunk one day this week. The Transcript says:

"Some five or six years ago Giblin's father died, leaving considerable estate. It was known that he owned some Spencer county bonds, but after his death they were nowhere to be found and had been given up as lost. An old trunk had descended to his son Frank, a boy eighteen years of age, who had the good fortune to get from his guardian, Mr. Wm. F. Downing, a few days since a new suit of clothes. While putting these away in the old trunk, curiosity led him to examine an opening in the top which he had often noticed before, but which he supposed was only an accidental break; and there snugly hid away in an oil cloth pocket and that in a flat tin box were the missing bonds."
