Full Text

We hear that in the East Parish of the town of Needham, in Massachusetts, there has been raised this spring, by a lady, three hundred and eleven silk worms, and 'tis supposed that next year there will be twice that number; now if every town was to raise as many, and continue every year, the shop-keepers would not send for any silks at all, and the farmers daughters might have silk gowns of their own manufacture and that would be better than to let our money go over to England.--These were all fed four and five times a day, upon mulberry-leaves, eighty leaves at a time.
