GERMANY.

ELBE, MARCH 1, 1807.

The battle of Eylau, fought within five [German] miles of Konigsberg, was one of the most bloody in the present war. The Russian column, which after the affair at Mohringen, was intercepted by the French main army, only effected a junction with its main body by cutting its way through the French, with great loss. Had not this junction been effected, Konigsberg, and all its rich magazines would have been theirs. But since the 18th that city has been free from apprehensions.

The Polish General Kosinski, who commanded Dombrowski's advanced guard, has been taken prisoner by a party of Prussians, which harasses the country from Golberg to Frankfort.
