To Irrigate San Saba Valley.

Lometa, Tex. Feb. 8 The people in San Saba county of late have held several meetings in the courthouse at San Saba to devise ways and means to irrigate the fertile valley of the San Saba river, which beyond all doubt is as fine a body of land as there is in the state. Nearly 200,000 acres in this valley are as level as a floor. In a few places where valley are susceptible of irrigation - as they irrigated last year they made two bales of cotton per acre and as good ribbon cane as Cuba or any other country raised. The same is true of wheat, oats, corn, etc. They have never tried rice, but will when they get fixed to irrigate.
