In Dress Revue
Competing with 4-H girls from nine counties in the northwestern district, Miss Hazel Dickerson won first place in a dress revue held in Raleigh Friday afternoon. Miss Dickerson modeled a brown and gold wool dress with brown accessories.
Miss Ramona Gardner, of Johnston county, was second place winner, wearing a checked wool dress, with bag and hat to match.
These winners will next compete in the State dress revue, winner of which will receive a trip to the 4-H club congress in Chicago.
Silver medals to blue award winners in the various counties were presented at the meeting, and girls receiving those medals from Vance county were Misses Grace and Hazel Dickerson, of Zeb Vance; Miss Mildred Hayes, of Aycock; Misses Becky and Anne Mabry, of Middleburg; and Miss Bertha Evans Wilson, of Henderson. Miss Mildred Hayes was awarded a gold medal as county winner in the clothing achievement contest.
The meeting was held at the office of the Raleigh home demonstration agent. Judges were Miss Willie Hunter, extension clothing specialist; Miss Anamerle Arant, northwestern district agent; and Miss Ruby Pearson, assistant State 4-H club leader.
