Well, dear readers, I'm back with some spiced chatter after missing a couple of days. It so happened that fate had taken away one of the few things that I ever really loved, my dog, pal "Blackie," and I wasn't in the mood to write, so that's that.

Received a card from Ellen Tarry, the New York lovely. She's vacationing in Birmingham, her former home.

Louise Harris, the comely Simpson Street Miss, is back in the city after having spent a few weeks in Philadelphia.

Pen-pushing Hazel Washington, the gifted young writer, is slated to leave the realm today for her home in St. Paul, Minnesota.

A long letter from my pal, N. Gilbert Denson: he's in Ellenville, New York.

The Earl Pritchetts are headed for New York City where they will spend their vacation.

Misses Meta Ruth Johnson and Minnie Howard are doing well following their recent illness.

The Noble Dukes are planning another afternoon of pleasure when this group will entertain a host of real mates at Club Kovale August 17.

Haven't seen Mr. Lucius Jones since the "great" day.

Played a few rounds of bridge t'other day over at the well-appointed Angier Avenue residence of the Eugene Edwards.

Archibald Brown is back in town after having spent a successful year at the University of Michigan.

Wonder where Walter Thomas is?

Guess Herbert Roland is full of smiles (no, I won't tell you why, it's a secret).

Made a few cinema pictures for commercial purposes t'other day.

Too bad that the promoters of the Don Redmon attraction had to call the said event off because it was feared that the orchestra could not make the trip to the Gate in time for its scheduled appearance. But I am sure that the dance patrons of the realm are grateful that such protective measures were taken. So under these conditions Don Redmon and his world's famous orchestra will not appear in Atlanta on August 7, as advertised in a previous issue of the WORLD.

This is all for the time being, so we'll close.
