With so much talk and rumors about the newly constructed Hughes Spalding Pavilion spreading, many have openly and secretly wondered what it will cost them to undergo treatment there.
The hospital has announced that patients will receive first class treatment equal to any first class hospital and live under conditions which cannot be topped anywhere.
The new rates were approved Thursday by the Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority after a survey of hospital rates. Hughes Spalding, chairman of the group, said the rates were subject to change, and possibly a change with a downward trend.
ROOM RATES
There are two types of private rooms in the hospital. One of these has a complete bathroom with complete facilities. Then there is a semi-private room consisting of two beds and facilities. The lowest priced room in the ward, which contains four beds.
The private room with bath costs $15 a day. The private room without bath costs $12.50 a day. The semi-private room costs $11 and a ward bed $9 a day.
NURSERY RATES
Nursery rates are divided into three classifications. Rates for a normally born infant are $3 a day. Rates for premature children are $4 a day, and rates for infants without their mother cost $5 a day.
Additional charges will be for operating room, delivery room, X-Ray, laboratory, drugs, medication, dressing and some other items.
