We have received the following Particulars of Donduc-Ombo's Expedition against the Kuban Tartars: That General having taken the Field the Beginning of the Spring, detached one of his Murzas, with a large Body of Troops, against the Circassians of Tervuge, who inhabit the Country on the other side of the River Kuban. This Murza being arrived there, immediately destroyed their Habitations, and marching further, he heard that a great Body of Kuban Tartars had posted themselves on the Banks of the River Changouze; upon this Advice, he hastened his March and surprised the Tartars, whom he quickly put to Flight, after killing a great Number of them, and obliging the rest to retire beyond the River, in passing which a great many were drowned. The Booty made in this Action consists in Horses and Oxen, 10,000 Sheep, besides 2000 Men taken Prisoners.

General Donduc-Ombo took the field at the beginning of spring and detached a Murza with a large body of troops against the Circassians of Tervuge beyond the River Kuban. The Murza destroyed their habitations, then marched further and surprised a great body of Kuban Tartars on the banks of the River Changouze, putting them to flight after killing many and forcing the rest to retreat across the river where many drowned.
