Full Text

The Mayor of New York has notified its citizens, by proclamation, that the small pox has been introduced among them. In one vessel, the Brunswick from London, arrived at the port of New York, 104 persons are convalescent from, or are now labouring under the small pox—5 died on the passage. There were 68 persons on board who had been vaccinated, all of whom escaped the infection. This fact furnishes a most powerful proof of the efficacy of vaccination, and should advise all who have not yet done so, to cause those under their care to be subjected to the operation.
