On Tuesday afternoon the premises again became the scene of further violence. A crowd of several hundreds collected upon Main street, and the family connected with the establishment were driven off, after receiving various injuries at the hands of the crowd.
We understand that the tenants of the building, constantly annoyed by the cellar beneath them, some time ago offered to take it, pay a reasonable rent, and put it to a use which would ensure quiet in the neighborhood. But the owner did not accede to their proposal. It had not been occupied for the sale of spirits for many weeks, up to within a very few days of town meeting; when, all at once, the thing was in full blast. If there was any "money, rum or rascality" in the matter, perhaps the editor of the Patriot, who, it is understood, has charge of the building, and the letting of tenements, can inform the public.
