Some doubts have been expressed, and distrust has been endeavored to be excited by federal prints, of the politics of Mr. Story, and particularly of his opinion in relation to the embargo. We have pleasure in removing any impression made by these attempts, by stating that at a late meeting of the "True Americans" (Republicans) of the town of Salem, Mr. Story concluded an eloquent and argumentative speech on the subject by moving the following resolution, which was unanimously adopted:

Resolved, That in the opinion of this meeting, it is inexpedient, improper, and unnecessary, to present any petition to the Congress of the United States, respecting the embargo at the present time.
