A Short Married Life.
A few weeks ago a tall butcher (not a city official) took to himself a wife, and on Saturday afternoon, a week after the marriage, the bride gathered up her clothes remarking that she was tired of married life, and she was going back to live the life she had been living for years before she was married, as she found much more pleasure in it. It is said that the husband provided his numerous friends with a fine pound cake last Monday afternoon, saying that he was glad that he had got rid of her so easily, and that he would apply for a divorce.
