An authentick Letter from the Borders of the Weaver, arrived by the last Dutch Mail, abruptly mentions, "That Affairs in the North and East were come to the highest Crisis; that the Disorders in Poland were daily increasing, and foreboded the most dreadful Consequences; that the King of Prussia had laid all Thoughts aside of making some very beneficial Regulations for his own Subjects, his Time being entirely taken up with military Preparations, recruiting, and providing Corn and Forage for the Army, of which there is a great Scarcity in the neighbouring Dominions, almost amounting to, or at least threatening, a Famine."
