COMMUNICATIONS.
For the Enquirer,
CONNECTICUT SCHOOL
MANUEL.

Permit me, Mr Editor, through your columns, to call the attention of the public generally, and of the Teachers of our Schools in particular, to this publication, which the friends of education are endeavoring to sustain in our State.

Most of your readers have probably seen the work in question, hence a particular description of it, is not necessary. It is sufficient to observe that it is a pamphlet. issued monthly each number containing at least 24 pages, at the low rate of 50 cents per annum.

Its Editor is that indefatigable friend and able supporter of the Common School interests in our State, Rev. M Richardson, who is countenanced and aided in this enterprise by the earnest endeavors of our State Superintendent, and of several other gentlemen of high standing.

The Manual is designed particularly for Teachers, and it ought to be in the hands of every individual in our State, who belongs to this useful and honorable profession.

It is likewise well fitted to engage the attention of all in our community who desire the greatest prosperity of our Schools.

All are aware that much has been done of late, to aid our Teachers in preparing themselves for their responsible work. and, hence, no hesitation is felt in calling upon them to render assistance in supporting the Manual.

The writer has no pecuniary interest in the Manual, and will receive nothing for his services in endeavoring to sustain its circulation; nevertheless, he will be happy to forward subscriptions for it as he will do anything in his power to promote the welfare of our Schools

JOHN F. NORTON,
Milton, Jan. 22d. 1848.
